Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 36 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a New York license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Centralus Health (Direct) and no current placement allowed at Program: Centralus Health (Direct).

• 12 months gap required between for Part-Time at Program: Centralus Health (Direct) and no current placement allowed at Program: Centralus Health (Direct).

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Centralus Health (Direct) and no current placement allowed at Program: Centralus Health (Direct).

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to arrival.

Required Credentials: BLS and ACLS must not expire during the assignment. Centralus Core Competency Exam required; must score 80% or higher.

Special Requests: Cannot be employed (FT, PT, or per diem) by Cayuga Health or its affiliate, Schuyler Hospital, within the past 12 months. All employment and gaps from the last 7 years must be accounted for, or back to graduation date.

Unit Details: High-acuity, fast-paced stroke telemetry med-surg environment caring for acute stroke and complex telemetry patients. Frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale. Telemetry rhythm monitoring and real-time response to changes. Stroke core measure compliance, including dysphagia screening, education, and care plans. Uses BCMA for medication administration. Manages admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment. Uses primary and team nursing care models.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years
