Insurance Authorization Coordinator

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Insurance Authorization Coordinator will verify and obtain patient insurance information and authorizations, ensuring accurate funding sources are updated in the EMR while working remotely in the Eastern Time Zone and available for every other Saturday. Key responsibilities Obtain and document detailed insurance benefit information and authorizations through various communication methods Continuously monitor and manage task flow related to insurance verification and authorization issues Collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to resolve funding source problems and ensure timely care delivery Required qualifications Associate degree or equivalent experience in insurance verification, authorization, or medical billing preferred Minimum of one year of relevant experience in the healthcare insurance field Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with insurance payer portals Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance requirements Experience with HomeCare Homebase is strongly preferred
