This reports directly to the Assistant Controller – Construction & Development. This role requires a strong understanding of both accounting principles and construction operations, with the ability to independently manage project financials.***Project & Job Cost Accounting***– Maintain and monitor job cost records for all active construction projects– Track budgets versus actual costs and proactively identify and resolve variances– Partner with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and forecasting– Review and approve project-related invoices and expenses***Loan Draws & Project Funding***– Prepare and submit loan draw requests in accordance with lender requirements– Compile and review supporting documentation, including lien waivers, invoices, andschedules of values– Coordinate with lenders, project managers, and internal teams to ensure timelyfunding***Accounts Payable & Receivable***– Process subcontractor invoices with proper coding, approvals, and compliancedocumentation– Manage lien waivers and subcontractor documentation requirements– Prepare and submit owner billings, including AIA or similar progress billing formats– Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding receivables***Financial Reporting***– Prepare monthly WIP schedules and project financial reports– Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes– Assist in preparation of financial statements and management reporting***Budgeting & Forecasting***– Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets and forecasts– Monitor project profitability and escalate risks or cost overruns early***Compliance & Controls***– Ensure adherence to contract terms, internal controls, and accounting policies– Maintain complete and audit-ready documentation for all projects– Support internal and external audits***Collaboration***– Work closely with project managers and leadership to provide clear, actionablefinancial insights– Communicate project status, risks, and issues in a timely manner– Other Duties as Needed**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS*****Education & Experience***– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field– Minimum of 5+ years of construction accounting experience preferred***Technical Skills***– Strong expertise in job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting– Experience with construction and real estate accounting systems, including Yardiand/or MRI, is a plus– Advanced Excel proficiency***Other Skills***– High attention to detail and strong organizational skills– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously– Clear, professional communication skills– Proactive problem-solving mindset**Preferred Qualifications**– CPA or progress toward certification– Experience with AIA billing, WIP reporting, and lender draw processes– Familiarity with lien laws and subcontractor compliance #J-18808-Ljbffr
