Accounting specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support our finance team. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing accounting support to the Director of Finance by handling daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, account reconciliations, reporting, documentation; and period end closing processes. Essential attributes for this role are: accuracy with numbers, attention to detail, consistency, timeliness, and the ability to analyze, organize and utilize information from a variety of sources.

salary: $28 - $29 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Associate

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter and maintain financial data within the accounting system.
• Prepare, review, and organize accounting documents and records.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Verify invoices and ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies or documentation issues.
• Assist with month-end activities and ad-hoc accounting projects.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and employee information.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and workflows.
• Serve as backup for interrelated administrative functions.
• Participate in training related to products, processes, procedures and organizational initiatives.
• Monitor, maintain, document and report compliance initiatives.
• Assist in the development, implementation, maintenance and management of administrative processes and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Maintain complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data.
