Pharmacist I Staff Pharmacist

This direct hire opportunity seeks a qualified Pharmacist I Staff Pharmacist to support inpatient hospital pharmacy operations in Utica, NY. The role involves comprehensive medication management within an inpatient setting, ensuring safe and accurate preparation, dispensing, and oversight of medications.

Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying medication orders for appropriate dosing, routes, frequencies, allergies, and contraindications. Accurately dispensing and labeling medications such as unit-dose, IV admixtures, sterile compounded products, and controlled substances in compliance with USP standards and facility protocols is essential. Providing drug information and clinical guidance to healthcare professionals, monitoring patient medication profiles for potential issues, and assisting with inventory management will also be key functions. Additionally, the pharmacist will maintain regulatory compliance, support safety and quality initiatives, and supervise pharmacy technicians to foster an organized and safe work environment.

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Active New York State pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience in hospital or inpatient pharmacy settings
• Proficiency with sterile compounding and intravenous medication preparation
