Structural Welder

Position Summary The Structural Welder is responsible for welding, fitting, and fabricating structural steel components in support of industrial construction and maintenance operations. This position requires a strong understanding of welding procedures, blueprints, and safety standards in an industrial environment. Responsibilities Perform structural welding using SMAW, FCAW, and/or GMAW processes Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings Fit, fabricate, and weld structural steel, plate, and miscellaneous metals Verify materials, dimensions, and weld quality before and after welding Use welding equipment, torches, grinders, and hand tools safely Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards Perform repairs or rework as required Maintain equipment and work areas in a safe and organized condition Adhere to all site safety rules and regulations and wear required PPE at all times Meet or exceed company safety standards Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management Qualifications Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of structural welding experience preferred Ability to pass required welding tests Experience in industrial or mining environments preferred Must pass site-specific safety training and drug screening Preferred Certifications NCCER Welding Certification (Structural or Industrial) AWS Certified Welder (D1.1 Structural Steel preferred) Valid process certifications for SMAW, FCAW, and/or GMAW MSHA Part 46 or Part 48 OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Forklift, aerial lift, or telehandler certification Confined Space Awareness Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and welding best practices Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Positive attitude, self-motivated, and dependable Ability to work independently or as part of a team Valid driver’s license if assigned a company vehicle Working conditions Flexible work schedule including nights and weekends as required Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and industrial hazards Physical Requirements Standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the shift Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage: $22-$37 per hour, based on qualifications and experience 401(k) retirement savings plan Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage Health Savings Account (HSA) eligibility Voluntary Life insurance and Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Our Culture: Quality People, Quality Work At Western Industrial Resources, we believe that exceptional results begin with exceptional people.
