Treatment Pathways Program Clinician

POSITION SUMMARY
The Treatment Pathways Program (TPP) is an innovative court-based pretrial diversionary initiative that provides court-based assessment and referral services. Court-based clinicians work with the Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division (JBCSSD) Bail Services Unit to identify and serve defendants with substance use disorders who are in custody. Individuals are assessed by the TPP senior clinician prior to their arraignment, and if found appropriate, are immediately connected with intensive clinical and recovery support services. The defendant's care is managed through the entire pretrial process under the collaborative community supervision of both Bail Services and the ABHS provider.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or related license eligible field or a doctoral degree in Psychology is required. Must hold one of the following credentials: LCSW, LMFT, LPC or licensed Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.LOCATION

Administers assessments to determine treatment needs, facilitates direct access to treatment, enters client level data into the Contractor Data Collection System (CDCS), maintains communication and works collaboratively with the Intensive Pretrial Supervision Probation Officer, and JBCSSD's research partner, Central Connecticut State University. Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM). Develops and documents, clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others as relevant. Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations. Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Make clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner. Communicate in a positive, effective manner with clients, family, and all internal and external providers. Attend any required meetings. Documents all client related information in compliance with agency policy. Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives. Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program. Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture. Conduct behavioral health screenings, assessments, crisis evaluations, and care coordination services with individuals detained in courthouse lock-up facilities while awaiting arraignment, ensuring timely identification of behavioral health and substance use treatment needs. Collaborate closely with Transitional Probation Program (TPP) Probation Officers, Recovery Coaches, Bail Services staff, court personnel, and community providers to facilitate client engagement, service coordination, treatment planning, and continuity of care. Provide transportation for clients, when clinically appropriate and programmatically necessary, to support access to treatment services, evaluations, community resources, and other approved appointments that promote engagement in care and recovery. Regulatory and Corporate Compliance Responsibilities Understands and adheres to Wheeler Clinic’s compliance standards as they appear in the clinic’s Corporate Compliance Plan, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy. Completes all training in a timely manner as required by state and federal regulations (e.g., Compliance, Fire Safety, HIPAA HITECH, Infection Control, Sexual Harassment, etc) and specific to the department and position. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and clinic regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
