Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

The purpose of the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Occupational Health team is to support the health, safety, and productivity of client staff by providing high-quality clinical and administrative support. The incumbent will work onsite, under the supervision of registered nurses and medical providers, and in close collaboration with the client's occupational health team. Prior experience in occupational health, urgent care, or ambulatory clinical settings is strongly preferred.

Position assignment is part time with an anticipated schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00am - 1:00 pm.

Essential Job Duties:

• Assist with the research donor program, including collection of blood, saliva, and tears.
• Assist with medical intake and triage for work-related injuries/illnesses.
• Support return-to-work processes and case coordination.
• Conduct routine clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, immunizations, and TB screening.
• Prepare and support medical surveillance exams (e.g., audiometry, spirometry).
• Coordinate travel health consultations and assist with documentation.
• Maintain medical and office supply inventory for the Occupational Health clinic.
• Respond to on-site medical emergencies as part of the OH team.
• Ensure compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, and internal regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain accurate medical records using electronic medical records systems.
• Support disaster preparedness activities as needed.
• Uphold ethical and legal standards while following client's policies and procedures.
• Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, patients, and partners in the Occupational Health and Safety network Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating motivation, reliability, organization, and punctuality.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• Valid and current Vocational Nurse license or equivalent in the state of practice.
• 2+ years of LVN experience in a clinical, occupational health, or urgent care setting preferred
• Experience with audiometry and spirometry testing preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred

Physical Demands:

The position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time to perform various tasks. It also involves lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination is essential for handling equipment and performing precise tasks. The role may involve repetitive tasks, requiring the candidate to have the physical capability to carry them out effectively. Additionally, good visual acuity is necessary for reading and accurately recording information. The candidate should be able to bend, kneel, and reach to access and handle materials and equipment. Excellent mobility is needed to move around the clinic and perform examinations efficiently. The role may occasionally require working in confined spaces, which the candidate should be comfortable with.

Education, Skills and Qualifications:

The LVN is required to have successfully completed vocational nurse coursework from an accredited program and must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Previous experience in an occupational healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge and experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred. Must have reliable transportation.
