Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel PICU RN – Akron, OH Assignment Shift: 3x12 Nights Experience: 2 years required License: Active OH or Compact RN license required at submission — no exceptions Education: BSN required due to Magnet status Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS EMR: Epic preferred Orientation: 24 hours COVID Vaccine: Not required Flu Vaccine: Required; medical/religious exemptions accepted Locals: Accepted at the same rate Radius Rule: None Unit Details PICU: 23 beds / 23 rooms Average Daily Census: 20 Patient Population: Pediatrics, adolescents, and some adults Higher-Acuity Care: ECMO, CRRT, post-op cardiac, neurosurgery, ventilated patients Equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Philips monitors, Servo ventilators Support: Respiratory Therapy, PT, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Work, Interpretation Services, Unit Secretary Required/Desired Skills PICU experience Ventilated patient care Infection control/PPE Wound assessment/care NICU experience helpful Level I or II Trauma experience preferred Floating – Important Travelers are first to float and must agree to floating at submission.
