CITIZENSHIP-ESL/Citizenship: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (non-credit)

Adjunct Faculty Position Location: District Wide. Required to live within commuting distance to San Diego. Position type: Adjunct (Part‑time/temporary). FLSA status: Exempt (does not accrue overtime). Salary will be set based on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules once official transcripts are received. Initial salary placement will be at the first class/step until official transcripts have been submitted. Responsibilities Teach lecture and lab classes as assigned, including days, evenings, weekends, and off‑campus courses. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain professional conduct, ethical standards, and current knowledge in subject matter areas. Keep accurate records, including attendance, grading, and instructor records. Be available to students outside of class for academic support. Fulfill all administrative responsibilities required of part‑time/temporary faculty. Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas and supports student learning. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in any discipline AND six (6) semester units in American history and institutions from a regionally accredited institution; OR equivalent. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds. Equivalent foreign degrees may be considered subject to professional equivalency evaluation. Desired Qualifications Full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject of the course. Experience working with diverse populations, including disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
