About the Position

Job Title

Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (CST) | Travel Contract

Location

Portland, ME | Acute Care – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub into a wide range of surgical procedures within a Level I Trauma Center environment, including orthopedic trauma, total joint revisions, and robotic-assisted surgeries
• Independently navigate multiple surgical vendors and equipment platforms including Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robotic systems
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio within a fast-paced, multi-specialty operating room setting
• Participate in call coverage, including one overnight trauma call shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with additional call scheduled per specialty team rules (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho)
• Adhere to weekend rotation expectations of approximately 1 in 4 weekends
• Document and operate within an Epic EMR environment

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency scrubbing complicated total joint revisions, robotic procedures, and orthopedic polytrauma cases
• Ability to independently navigate multiple surgical vendors

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including General, GU/GYN, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular
• Orthopedic trauma and joint replacement scrub experience
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Flexible, accountable, punctual, and team-oriented work style
