Our Client is seeking a hands-on CNC Programmer / Machinist for a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. This person will support machining operations by programming, setting up, and operating both CNC and manual equipment to produce precision production parts, tools, and fixtures from metal, composites, and other materials. The role requires strong troubleshooting ability, machining knowledge, and hands-on ownership of part quality from setup through final inspection.

In this shop, CNC programming and machinist skill sets are closely tied together.

Job Duties:

* Program, troubleshoot, make adjustments, and solve problems directly at the machine.
* The role is expected to be roughly 60% machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and problem solving, and 40% programming.
* Most programming work will involve modifying existing programs or models, with some from-scratch programming preferred.
* Will machine a variety of production parts and tooling while maintaining quality and safety standards.
* Responsible for inspecting finished work, making offsets and machine adjustments, and ensuring parts meet blueprint and drawing specifications.
* Works under general to minimal supervision depending on experience level and contributes to continuous improvement and shop efficiency initiatives.

Requirements:

* Strong CNC programming and machining experience with multi-axis turning and milling equipment, ideally 5-axis and/or dual-spindle machines.
* Experience with Nakamura W-150 or similar CNC turning centers is highly relevant.
* Hands-on experience operating and programming manual lathes, mills, drill presses, cut-off saws, and CNC mills/lathes.
* Ability to blank-screen program lathes and mills.
* Skilled in machine setup, tool changes, offsets, feeds/speeds, and troubleshooting machining issues.
* Experience modifying existing CNC programs and creating some programs from scratch.
* Strong blueprint reading and interpretation of GD&T/symbols.
* Experience inspecting parts using micrometers (manual and digital), calipers, comparators, and other precision measuring tools.
* Manual mill/lathe experience, fixture making, tool design, and shop-floor process improvement experience are highly valued.
* Experience with SolidWorks and/or Mastercam preferred.
* Familiarity with visual work instructions, root cause analysis, and manufacturing process improvement.
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
* Comfortable using a personal computer and shop software/data collection systems for labor tracking and production documentation.
* Strong math skills with ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical machining applications.
* Able to work effectively in a team environment and support production needs across shifts.
* Quality-focused with strong attention to safety, PPE compliance, and participation in 6S/clean-up activities.

Education:


High school diploma or GED required.
