Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Riverside, CA, with a fast-paced food manufacturing company. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who understands manufacturing operations, inventory, cost accounting, and the financial impact of production activity.

The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, lead the close process, support accurate financial reporting, and partner closely with Operations, Production, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and senior leadership. This is a strong opportunity to join a collaborative environment where accounting plays a visible role in improving profitability, strengthening processes, and supporting informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring financial statements and management reports are accurate and timely.
- Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods, including reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
- Analyze product costs, labor, overhead, COGS, standard costs, manufacturing variances, yield, waste, scrap, and production efficiency.
- Partner with operations, production, purchasing, and supply chain teams to evaluate vendor costs, purchase price variances, margins, and operational performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax preparation, internal controls, process improvements, and accounting staff development.
