Global Machining Strategy Leader - Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer

Medtronic

Medtronic seeks a Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer to lead the CNC Machining Center of Excellence, defining enterprise manufacturing technology strategies and executing process standardization across global sites. The role manages capability development, technology roadmaps, and deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies to improve quality and operational performance.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute CNC Machining Center of Excellence strategy and technology roadmap
Define enterprise manufacturing standards for machining, finishing, equipment, tooling, and quality systems
Partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operating units to align technology investments
Drive process optimization, yield improvement, and defect reduction initiatives across manufacturing sites
Evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept and industrialization efforts

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years manufacturing/engineering experience, or advanced degree with 8+ years
Hands-on experience with CNC machining technologies in production environments
Proven track record developing and deploying manufacturing processes and production technologies
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives spanning engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations
Medical device manufacturing background preferred
Experience with Swiss turning, milling, grinding, and specialty materials like titanium and stainless steel preferred
Ability to influence stakeholders across global organizations without direct authority
