Estate Landscape Crew Leader

$22.00–$25.00/hour, DOE (3–5+ years experience) — Weekly Pay

Plant Persuasion is a small, established landscape company specializing in the maintenance of high-end residential properties throughout Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley.

Plant Persuasion has been caring for high-end properties for years, built on one principle: we treat every property like it's our own. We catch problems before the client ever notices them, so their peace of mind never gets interrupted. That's not just a maintenance route to us — it's a responsibility we take seriously, and we're looking for a crew leader who takes the same pride in the work. We run small, tight-knit crews, and long-standing client relationships are the norm here, not the exception.

We are looking for an experienced Landscape Crew Leader to take responsibility for an established maintenance route. This is a hands-on position — you'll work alongside your crew every day while ensuring each property is completed to our quality standards.

We are not looking to train someone into this position. We are looking for someone who already knows the trade and is ready to lead.

The Details

• Pay: $22–$25/hour DOE, based on years of crew leader experience (3–5+ years), paid weekly
• Growth: As the company grows, so does your pay — this isn't a one-and-done rate
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30–6:45 AM. Roughly 34–40 hours/week depending on the day's properties
• Work: Year-round, steady work — no seasonal layoffs
• Time off: 40 hours of PTO after one year
• Equipment: Company vehicle and equipment provided for the workday

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5+ years professional landscape crew leader experience
• Valid California Driver License
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Strong irrigation troubleshooting and repair skills
• Experience with proper pruning techniques
• Knowledge of ornamental plants
• Experience operating landscape equipment safely
• Reliable and punctual
• Professional appearance
• Able to work independently and lead a crew

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of 2–3 employees
• Maintain high-end residential properties
• Ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently
• Communicate professionally with homeowners when needed
• Train and direct crew members throughout the day
• Load and unload trucks
• Maintain company vehicles and equipment
• Irrigation diagnostics and repair
• Planting, mulching, seasonal color, and landscape enhancements
• Operate blowers, mowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, trenchers, sod cutters, and other landscape equipment
• Basic tree and shrub pruning
• Complete simple daily paperwork
