Location: Chicago, IL 60602

Salary/Payrate: $60,000–$85,000 annually plus AWESOME benefits!!!

Work Environment: Hybrid (2 days WFH)

Term: Fulltime

Job Description:

AMS Staffing is seeking an experienced General Liability / Tort Legal Assistant to join a respected mid-sized law firm in downtown Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys providing high-level litigation support in a collaborative, fast-paced law firm environment. Insurance Defense experience preferred. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and legal support to 2–3 attorneys handling matters involving premises liability, transportation, auto/trucking accidents, negligence, construction injuries, and other General Liability matters.
• Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
• Manage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, deadlines, and other case-related events.
• Maintain electronic and physical client files and assist with case management, discovery, and document organization.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors.
• Assist with trial preparation and additional litigation support responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 5+ years of Legal Assistant experience within a law firm with a solid understanding of General Liability case procedures.
• Plaintiff or defense litigation experience will be considered, with General Liability Defense and Insurance Defense experience preferred.
• Strong e-filing experience, preferably with PACER and Odyssey.
• Excellent communication, technical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Stable employment history preferred.
