Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Pediatric Gastroenterology (Center Valley)

Job Overview St. Luke’s seeks an Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide healthcare services in collaboration with attending physicians. The role includes medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, referrals, diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic remediation, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescription management. Job Duties and Responsibilities Competent in the assessment, treatment, counseling, and education of patients and their families. Competent in evaluating patients and performing physical examinations, including obtaining, studying, and updating medical histories. Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and accurately interpreting results. Develop and implement appropriate patient management and treatment plans based on assessment of needs. Coordinate and communicate patient care effectively with other healthcare professionals and institutions. Provide high quality health care based on best practice and/or evidence‑based medicine. Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as appropriate and within granted clinical privileges. Provide virtual care services via St. Luke’s virtual care platform when requested. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies. Maintain required continuing medical education. Participate in the research, development, implementation, and tracking of clinical management guidelines. Teach multidisciplinary students and residents, ensuring a positive educational environment. Precept AP student clinical rotations when assigned. Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care/outcomes, customer/service, operational system/process, and safety. Utilize electronic medical record systems and provide documentation optimized for billing of professional services. Demonstrate financial responsibility through efficient use of resources. Perform routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients. Coordinate patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies as appropriate. Teach wellness habits and educate patients on prevention and management of health problems. Provide occupational health services in the urgent care setting, including pre‑employment physicals, injury care, and work‑comp follow‑ups. Qualifications Must be board eligible or board‑certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. Physician Assistants must also be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). One year of experience in a similar setting is preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply. Physical and Sensory Requirements Sitting up to 8 hours per day; standing up to 8 hours per day. Walking for up to 6 hours per day. Frequently lifting, carrying and pushing objects up to 10 pounds; rarely up to 75 pounds. Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, handling, and twisting & turning as required for procedures. Ability to perceive, hear, see, and speak as required for normal conversation and professional communication. Education Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Medical Physician Assistant with a current state license. Physician Assistants must also hold current NCCPA certification.
