Position OverviewThe Vehicle Assembly Mechanic often works in small teams to assemble and manufacture mechanical components or systems for a wide range of vehicles that are specific to MSI's product line.The Vehicle Assembly Mechanic will report to the Shop Floor Supervisor. The position requires a full-time work week spent in the shop in Mooresville, NC. Production hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm. Flexibility to work additional hours as required to meet project deadlines is expected.Key ResponsibilitiesUse a variety of tools to build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, sketches, and plans.Build/replace/repair major vehicle components, assemblies, and systems (including engines, transmissions, and suspensions, etc.)Troubleshoot mechanical challenges and maintain an innovative mindset; exhibiting an ability to problem solve beyond standardized solutions.Effectively manage and plan work to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in safe and usable condition.Be willing and able to pivot to different tasks throughout the day.Ensure that work conditions are safe and efficient.Skills and Qualifications RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Possess a bias for action and the aptitude required to efficiently prioritize and execute tasksProven experience in assembly, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting of vehicle components and vehicle sub-systemsAptitude in using various mechanical hand tools and precision measurement toolsDemonstrate dependability, thoroughness, and excellent verbal communication skillsMust provide own tools (Mechanics should expect to provide a general mechanic's tool set upon start of employment)Ability to follow established procedures and practices; read instructions, and blueprints etc.A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelinesExcellent problem- solving/troubleshooting skillsKeen attention to detailBasic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronicsA valid driver's licenseU.S. Citizenship is required.
