Tucked away in the heart of Dupont Circle, in Washington D.C., Residents is a charming restaurant café and bar offering Washingtonians and travelers an exquisite indoor and outdoor dining and cocktail experience. The name ‘Residents’ stems from our founders who arrived as immigrants with the dream of

becoming Residents of this diverse country and historical city. We strive to ensure our employees find a home in their working environment and become residents of Residents too!

Residents offers a casual-chic cocktail and dining experience with a keen focus on high-quality, seasonal ingredients. Our multi-sensory experience involves all five senses: vision, touch, sound, smell, and taste. We elevate the ambiance with curated playlists throughout the day and into the night. We skillfully use greenery to create an immersive ambiance with a dynamic array of plants that capture the city’s look and feel as it changes throughout the seasons.

Residents is a three-time recipient of the DC Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand award; and has been featured in numerous food & hospitality publications and local television segments highlighting our remarkable growth and dedication to excellence.

Job Details

Residents is looking for a Chef de Cuisine with experience, knowledge, and leadership skills to guide our team and assist in continuing their development.

-Residents currently runs dinner services 6 days a week (Tues-Sun) and brunch services 2 days a week (Sat + Sun).

-Will expect you to have knowledge of all kitchen operations that are required to fulfil the duties of a head chef, such as: menu development, scheduling, costing, inventory, food safety protocols, mentorship, etc.

-We strongly believe in fostering the growth of our team. As such, for the first quarter of your initial year at Residents you will work alongside our Executive Chef to ensure that you understand our brand standards, learn our vision for menu development, and get to know our team personally and professionally. Ultimately it is our goal during this time period to set you up for success and to give you the tools you need to run our culinary program.
