Title Child and Family Mental Health Therapist Location Child & Family - 620 NE 2nd St., Gresham, OR 97030 Schedule This is a hybrid position, Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm, with some evenings and weekends required. Position Overview The Mental Health Therapist – Portland Public Schools provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families in Portland Public Schools, NARA Northwest outpatient clinics, and community-based settings. This position conducts mental health screenings, assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and provides individual, group, and family therapy utilizing evidence-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approaches. The therapist collaborates with families, school personnel, community partners, and multidisciplinary treatment team members to support client well‑being and treatment goals. Additional responsibilities include crisis intervention, care coordination, referrals, discharge planning, and follow‑up services. What You Will Do Conduct mental health screenings, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for children, adolescents, and families receiving services through Portland Public Schools, NARA Northwest outpatient programs, and community-based settings. Provide individual, group, and family therapy utilizing evidence‑based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed treatment approaches, including play therapy and other developmentally appropriate interventions as indicated. Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention services for clients experiencing behavioral health crises. Collaborate with families, school personnel, community partners, medical providers, and multidisciplinary treatment team members to coordinate care and support client treatment goals. Provide parenting support, psychoeducation, referrals, care coordination, discharge planning, and follow‑up services to promote successful treatment outcomes. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements. Provide mentorship, training, and onboarding support to new clinicians, including opportunities for shadowing, consultation, and knowledge sharing as assigned. Participate in quality assurance activities, community outreach, program development, and professional training activities as assigned.
