Job Details Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Cardiac ICU / Critical Care Nursing Employment Type: Travel Nurse Job Location: Baltimore, MD Schedule: Rotating days and nights, 3x12-hour shifts Shift Duration: 12 hours Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,220 - $2,340 Assignment Length: 13 weeks Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Orientation: 24 hours Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holidays: Required as scheduled Floating: May float within specialty and to lower-acuity ICU areas as needed On-Call: May be required Charting System: Epic experience required Job Requirements Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required Strong cardiac critical care background; first-time travelers with solid CVICU experience may be considered Current BLS and ACLS certification required CPI certification required NIHSS certification preferred CCRN preferred Experience managing 1:1 to 1:3 patient ratios in a high-acuity ICU setting Comfort with advanced life-support devices, cardiac monitoring, and critical care procedures Responsibilities Provide expert bedside care for critically ill cardiac patients with conditions such as cardiogenic shock, heart failure, cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, MI, and pulmonary hypertension Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced support including Impella, IABP, VAD, CRRT, ventilators, and cooling devices Perform and assist with procedures such as central line and arterial line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, and Swan-Ganz catheter placement Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, cardiac drips, sedation, and other critical infusions per protocol Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, hemodynamic data, and telemetry findings to guide timely interventions Support post-cardiac surgery patients and advanced therapy workups, including LVAD and transplant-related care Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, and other interdisciplinary partners Maintain safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care in a fast-paced CVICU environment Apply now to join a leading Baltimore healthcare team and advance your career in travel nursing and cardiovascular critical care.
