Program Specialist Of Individual Placement And Support

This is a time limited position. This position is with the MS Department of Mental Health's Bureau of Behavioral Health Services within the Division of Adult Services. The incumbent will serve as Program Specialist of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and coordinator of certification.

This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Provide oversight and monitoring for Individual Placement and Support (IPS) programs statewide.
• Conduct IPS fidelity/certification reviews; review policies, records, and compliance plans; draft Reports of Findings.
• Receive, validate, track, and report required program data; follow up on missing/inaccurate submissions.
• Provide program guidance and technical assistance to providers on standards, documentation, and performance.
• Monitor and enforce monthly/annual reporting requirements; document noncompliance and follow-up actions.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable private, state, and federal grant requirements and reporting.
• Review and process monthly cash requests; verify allowable costs and proper use of grant funds.
• Review provider RFP submissions and funding proposals; provide feedback and recommendations.
• Review new provider policies/procedures for alignment with DMH Operational Standards.
• Coordination of certification visit-related tasks in the Division of Adult Services
• Coordinate, review, and offer correction for written reports containing findings from certification reviews.
• Coordinate the compilation of staff's written report of findings into a single report for submission to the Division of Certification following each certification visit.
• Coordinate the Division of Adult Services responses to provider's Plans of Compliance.
• Review and offer corrective action necessary to provider's applications for new services and programs to ensure they meet DMH Operational Standards or other official regulations.
• Present findings from on-site certification reviews in group meetings, as needed.
• Support DMH mission and represent Adult Services in internal/external meetings as needed.
• Demonstrate reliability through punctual attendance, timely task completion, and prompt follow-up on all assigned tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Knowledge of Mississippi's state mental health system and children and youth community-based mental health services, grant management experience, and knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs (Excel, Word, OneDrive, PPT, etc.);
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines for assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 4-7 years of experience.
• Agency Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and 4-7 years of experience in a mental health-related field.
• Preference will be given to those with:
• Excellent working knowledge of the DMH Operational Standards and other official regulations pertaining to provider certification
• Working knowledge of the DMH certification review process
• Working knowledge of DMH's certified provider network
• Experience in at least one agency programmatic area (i.e., mental health, substance use, and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities)
• Experience with on-site agency reviews
