Fiscal Specialist

Fiscal Specialist – San Bernardino County San Bernardino County is recruiting Fiscal Specialists to perform complex fiscal duties. Responsibilities include reviewing, auditing, and preparing accounting documents; processing payments, invoices, billings, reimbursements, credit card statements, and claims; maintaining accounting or fiscal records; preparing fiscal and statistical reports; collecting, distributing, and allocating funds to correct accounts. Salary ranges: • San Bernardino County Fire Protection District – $21.47 – $29.61 hourly (range 18). • Special Districts – $21.44 – $31.08 hourly (range 18). Conditions of Employment Must pass a background investigation, including fingerprinting, credit check, and/or medical exam. Federal and certain county positions require polygraph testing. Applicants requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered. Candidate Requirements Option 1 – Experience: At least 18 months of full‑time equivalent fiscal work reviewing, reconciling, and maintaining fiscal/accounting records. Option 2 – Education: Completed Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, accounting/finance, or a closely related field. General office or clerical experience does not qualify as fiscal work experience. Education Verification All education must be from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education–recognized accrediting association. Foreign degrees must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a recognized credential evaluation service. Ideal Candidate Profile Strong math and fiscal skills, proficient in computer and office software, capable of data entry and report generation, and enjoys teamwork with existing fiscal/accounting staff.
