Klaviyo Implementation Specialist

About the Role Forge Digital Marketing is looking for an experienced Klaviyo Implementation Specialist to join our growing Email & SMS Marketing team. This is a hands-on, execution-focused position responsible for taking approved lifecycle strategies, campaign plans, creative assets, and copy and turning them into correctly built, tested, and deployed experiences inside Klaviyo. You'll work closely with Forge's Lifecycle Marketing Strategists, Email Designers, Copywriters, and Client Success team. Our strategists determine what we're doing and why. Our creative team develops the customer-facing experience. You'll make sure it actually gets built correctly. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys the technical and operational side of Klaviyo: building sophisticated flows, configuring campaigns, creating segments, managing account warming, troubleshooting issues, testing everything, and maintaining exceptionally clean accounts. What You’ll Own Campaign Implementation Build email and SMS campaigns from approved designs and copy. Translate Figma/email designs accurately into Klaviyo. Configure campaign audiences, inclusions, and exclusions. Build and validate segmentation. Configure UTM parameters and tracking. Add dynamic content and personalization. Configure send settings and scheduling. Conduct comprehensive pre-send QA. Test links, buttons, images, personalization, and dynamic content. Check desktop and mobile rendering. Confirm suppression and exclusion logic. Ensure campaigns match the strategist's approved brief. Perform final deployment checks before campaigns are scheduled. Accuracy matters enormously in this role. A beautiful campaign sent to the wrong segment is still a failed campaign. Flow Implementation Build and maintain Klaviyo lifecycle automations based on strategies and specifications developed by our Lifecycle Strategists, including: Welcome flows Browse abandonment Added-to-cart abandonment Checkout abandonment Post-purchase Cross-sell and upsell Replenishment Review requests Winback VIP and loyalty Sunset and re-engagement Product-specific journeys SMS automation Custom lifecycle journeys Be responsible for correctly configuring triggers, trigger filters, flow filters, conditional and trigger splits, timing and delays, segmentation, frequency controls, email/SMS sequencing, dynamic variables, personalization, tracking, testing, and QA. We don't expect the Implementation Specialist to independently develop the client's lifecycle strategy. We do expect you to understand lifecycle marketing well enough to recognize when something doesn't look right and raise it before it goes live. Build appropriate engagement segments. Execute scheduled warming plans. Gradually expand audiences according to performance. Monitor deliverability indicators throughout warming. Watch bounce, unsubscribe, complaint, and engagement signals. Identify potential deliverability problems. Escalate issues when performance falls outside expected parameters. Document progress and maintain account-warming records. Quality Assurance Follow Forge's QA procedures and verify: Correct audience and exclusions Correct send time Correct links and UTMs Correct discount codes Correct personalization Correct products and pricing Correct flow logic Correct triggers and filters Correct mobile/desktop rendering Correct email/SMS sequencing Correct tracking What We're Looking For 2–4+ years of hands‑on Klaviyo experience Significant experience working inside Shopify + Klaviyo environments Experience building campaigns and sophisticated automated flows Strong understanding of Klaviyo segmentation Experience with flow triggers, filters, conditional splits, and dynamic content Understanding of email/SMS consent and suppression Experience with deliverability and account warming Understanding of email authentication and sending infrastructure Experience QAing email and SMS campaigns Familiarity with ecommerce tracking and UTMs Strong attention to detail Ability to follow detailed strategic briefs accurately Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously Excellent written communication Ability to recognize when something appears incorrect and raise it before it goes live. Agency experience is strongly preferred. Experience working with multiple DTC Shopify brands simultaneously is a major plus. What This Role Is — And Isn’t This is a Klaviyo specialist role. It is not a Lifecycle Strategist position. You'll be given strategic direction by experienced lifecycle marketers and work collaboratively with designers and copywriters. Your expertise is in turning that strategy into technically excellent execution. You won't be expected to independently develop quarterly retention strategies or lead high-level client strategy meetings. However, you're not simply a data‑entry or production assistant. We expect you to understand Klaviyo deeply enough to identify potentially incorrect flow logic, segmentation, filters, or deployment decisions and raise the issue before implementation. Your Klaviyo experience is primarily uploading email templates You've never independently built multi-branch flows You aren't comfortable with segmentation and conditional logic You tend to move quickly at the expense of QA You need someone to walk you through routine Klaviyo configuration You've only worked in one relatively simple Klaviyo account You don't enjoy technical troubleshooting You're uncomfortable managing several accounts simultaneously Application Screening Questions How many years have you worked hands-on inside Klaviyo, and approximately how many Klaviyo accounts have you personally worked in? Describe the most technically complex Klaviyo flow you've personally built. Walk us through your process for building a Klaviyo flow from an approved strategy brief through launch. Explain the difference between a Klaviyo trigger filter, flow filter, conditional split, and segment. Give an example of when you would use each. You've been given an approved Figma design, final copy, campaign audience, exclusions, offer details, and send date. Walk us through everything you would check before scheduling the campaign. Tell us about your experience warming a new or migrated Klaviyo account. What experience do you have with Shopify + Klaviyo integrations? You're implementing a strategist's brief and notice that the requested flow logic appears incorrect or could create an unintended customer experience. What do you do?
