Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The Staff Accountant works with the general ledger and is responsible for the books for numerous business segment within Hoover Circular Solutions. The position works as a team member with the finance and accounting staff in support of the accounting efforts worldwide. Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for certain month-end close functions across multiple legal entities including the review of journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules and other analysesEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and proceduresReconciles numerous Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basisReconcile bank activity and complete month-end cash reconciliationsAssist with the review of revenue invoicing (rail billing) with selected business unitsAssist with payroll functions for selected entities.Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reportsMake certain all financial reporting deadlines are met and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processesContinuous management and support of budget and forecast activitiesMonitor and support taxation requirementsPrepare internal and external audit schedulesEvaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenuesCollect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problemsEnsure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial dataQualificationsBachelor's Degree in AccountingNavision ERP experience preferredMinimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, taxation, and full cycle G/L accountingAdvanced Excel skillsMust be flexible, self-starter, change-oriented, self-motivated team playerPossess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skillsAble to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentGood communication skills
