Speech-Language Pathologist

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech, language, and pragmatic services to students. This involves conducting assessments, developing IEPs, providing therapy, and collaboration with families and staff to improve student outcomes in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent
• Valid Oregon Board of Examiners Speech-Language Pathology certification or TSPC license with Speech Impaired Endorsement
• Proficient in task prioritization, time management, resource allocation, and organization with strong attention to detail
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
• Strong written/oral communication, technological competence, and ability to produce concise professional documents
• Knowledge of and adherence to Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance of Oregon Educators
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification

Essential Job Functions:

• Assessment and evaluation of students for special education eligibility and intervention strategies
• Preparation and presentation of comprehensive evaluation reports
• Collaboration with parents, school staff and outside consultants on speech, language, and pragmatic interventions
• Provide speech, language, and pragmatic services as outlined in IEPs
• Provide training, regular observation, and feedback regarding communication instruction delivery
• Facilitate meetings, problem solve, and manage caseloads efficiently
• Maintain thorough ongoing records/documentation for individual students receiving therapy or other school provided speech services and prepare pertinent reports
• Develop and maintain systems to record, monitor, and interpret student progress
• Teach alternative communication modes and use assistive technology communication strategies/devices used with students who have significant mental and physical disabilities
• Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community, as necessary
• Knowledge of state and federal special education law and regulations sufficient to ensure legal compliance

Terms of Employment:

• Estimated start date August 28, 2026
• 1.0 FTE 190-day contract (191-day for staff new to the district)
• 2026/27 school year base salary $76,000 - $115,846 dependent on years of experience and education level
