Job Summary:
The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) located in Castro Valley, California. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to neurological patients, including those recovering from neurosurgical procedures, strokes, and traumatic brain injuries. Candidates are required to bring their California Registered Nurse license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse license; Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neurological Life Support (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); a minimum of 2 years of ICU neuro experience; Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior community hospital experience, trauma level II experience, charge nurse experience, and LTAC experience.
• Float: May float to Emergency Department, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department.
• Additional Information: The ICU is a Neuro/Stroke unit with 24 beds spread across two wings, supporting various complex neurological and trauma cases. Candidates should have experience with invasive procedures and neuro-specific monitoring equipment, including ICP, EVD, and FloTrac/Vigileo.
• Start Date: 07/13/2026
• Travel Experience: Required, with a 50-mile travel requirement; locals accepted at a lower bill rate.
• Certifications Needed in Hand at Submission: AHA-certified.
• Background Policy: Must disclose any background hits or DUIs prior to submission.
• Work History: A 7-year work history verification is required.
