Assembly Technician

Location: Long Beach, CA

Duration: 3-Month Contract

Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite

Shift : 5 AM - 3:30 PM, 6:30 AM - 5 PM

Overview

Insight Global is seeking an Assembly Technician to join a rapidly growing manufacturing team in Long Beach, CA. This individual will play a critical role in assembling complex electromechanical energy systems and supporting the production of critical power infrastructure equipment. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, can interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work with strong attention to detail. This role aligns closely with internal assembly technician and electromechanical manufacturing positions focused on technical drawings, BOMs, quality standards, and production execution.

Responsibilities

Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products using engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation to ensure accurate product builds
Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision measurement equipment to complete assemblies to specification
Perform visual inspections and basic functional checks prior to product handoff
Identify assembly defects, discrepancies, and design concerns and communicate findings to Engineering and Manufacturing teams
Partner with Quality Control and Test teams to improve product quality and first-pass yield
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment
Accurately document completed work and follow established manufacturing processes and procedures

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in mechanical, electromechanical, or manufacturing assembly
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and precision measurement equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to follow technical documentation and standardized work instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

Experience assembling power or energy systems equipment such as battery systems, switchgear, inverters, or related electrical equipment
Electrical assembly experience including wiring, cable routing, harness building, and terminations
Technical trade school certification or vocational training
Experience working in a startup, high-growth, or rapidly evolving manufacturing environment
Experience supporting quality inspections, testing, or manufacturing process improvements
