About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing - Traveler experience accepted for first-time travelers - Ability to worknight shifts Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out on-site. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit may result in cancellation. Required skills include Medical-Surgical, telemetry remote monitoring, and use of rapid response team. Candidates should have the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage IV insulin protocols. Colostomy care and feeding tube management experience is necessary. Pre/Post Hemodialysis management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, and phlebotomy skills are required. Candidates must be proficient in starting IVs and managing peripheral lines. Knowledge of PCA, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula is needed. Familiarity with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration is essential. Experience with isolation precautions and wound care is required. Patient diagnoses include dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and hip fractures. Unit staffing will require flexibility to float as needed. Contract staff must be prepared to work during catastrophic events. Orientation includes 24 hours of training, covering necessary equipment and unit protocols. Baseline patient ratios will be 1:5-6 during shifts. Weekend work will be expected as part of the contract. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start.
