Job Overview Barkery on Pike is a pet supplies store and dog grooming salon. We are seeking an experienced Dog Groomer for our salon. We have sales associate's who handle appointments, phone calls and payments. At our salon we work as a team and support each other when help is needed. We are open Monday-Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-5pm. We are closed on all major holidays including Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Candidate must have at least 1 year of professional dog grooming experience Able to work as a team Must have a good work ethic Must have reliable transportation Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling for various breeds of dogs. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Handle animals safely and comfortably during grooming sessions, ensuring their well-being throughout the process. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, including tools and equipment. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming services, pet care tips, and any observed health concerns. Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing their needs or concerns. Skills Proficiency in pet grooming techniques and tools is essential. Proven experience in pet grooming is necessary. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Ability to handle various breeds of dogs with patience and care. A genuine passion for animals and commitment to their welfare. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
