Gnarls Mascot Representative (FWS)

Overview The Office of Student Engagement oversees community building programs and seeks a student worker to support programming for commuter students. The role reports to the Associate Director for Recreation & Commuter Engagement. Responsibilities Serve as a student officer on the Gnarls Squad Team, attending on‑campus and off‑campus events hosted through Recreation or Student Affairs. Wear the mascot suit and represent the university as the Gnarls mascot during events. Support the management and communication of the Gnarls schedule. Staff events, meetings, and office hours in person. Prepare for events and assist with mascot suit transportation. Process expense reports and purchases related to Gnarls Squad events. Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to community building and teamwork. Reliable, organized, and communicative. Able to manage a hybrid schedule and confirm weekly changes for event staffing. Must be able to work at least one weekend or evening event per month. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a mascot/mascot handler. Prior experience working in an office or community building environment. Work Mode Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (e.g., 1‑4× per week) and also work some of the time remotely. Salary $20 per hour.
