Shipping Supervisor

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to join our team. In this supervisory role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our shipping and receiving department, ensuring that all inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately, safely, and on time. Location: Seymour, CT, US. Position Type: Full-Time/Regular. Shipping & Receiving Operations Supervise and coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments, including raw materials, finished goods, and equipment Verify accuracy of shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips Inspect incoming materials for damage, quality, and compliance with order specifications Prepare shipping documents, manifests, and labels in accordance with carrier requirements Schedule pickups and deliveries with our truck, freight carriers and couriers Team Leadership Lead, train, and mentor a small team of shipping/receiving associates Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance to meet throughput and accuracy targets Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate priorities, safety updates, and goals Assist in onboarding new team members and provide ongoing coaching Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations at all times Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards Report discrepancies, damaged goods, and near-misses to management promptly Required Skills 1–2 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment High school diploma or GED equivalent Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or WMS/ERP systems Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, bills of lading, and packing lists Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire Required Experience Experience with inventory management software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role Familiarity with DOT/OSHA regulations and hazmat shipping requirements Knowledge of Lean or 5S manufacturing principles #J-18808-Ljbffr
