Shipping & Receiving SupervisorSeeking a highly qualified Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for the Seymour, CT location of a leader in the power equipment service & repair industry. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years experience in lead or supervisory roles with a shipping & receiving team, be able to map out delivery routes in heavy metro markets (ex: NYC), shipping industrial equipment in various sizes and weights, heavy computer usage (ex: ERP, FedEX, UPS, etc.), hiring & training personnel, coordinating & assisting driver's, understand freight codes, knowledge of DOT standards, etc.This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for keeping inbound and outbound shipments accurate, safe, and on schedule. You will coordinate daily shipping and receiving activity, verify documentation, inspect incoming materials, and lead a small team of associates. If you are organized, dependable, and comfortable balancing people, paperwork, and a fast-moving warehouse, this role offers plenty to own.Shipping and receiving operationsSupervise and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including raw materials, finished goods, and equipmentVerify shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, and other required documentationInspect incoming materials for damage, quality concerns, and compliance with order specificationsPrepare shipping documents, manifests, and labels in accordance with carrier requirementsSchedule pickups and deliveries with company trucks, freight carriers, and couriersTeam leadershipLead, train, and mentor a small team of shipping and receiving associatesAssign daily work and monitor performance against throughput, accuracy, and service goalsConduct pre-shift meetings to communicate priorities, safety updates, and daily expectationsSupport the onboarding of new team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedbackSafety and workplace standardsEnsure compliance with DOT, OSHA, company safety requirements, and established shipping proceduresMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standardsReport shipment discrepancies, damaged goods, safety concerns, and near-misses promptlyMay be modified from time to time.
