Pain Management Physician OpportunityDirect Orthopedic Care (DOC) is seeking a Pain Management Physician to join our growing multidisciplinary practice focused on interventional pain management, physical therapy, orthopedic care, and function-based recovery.This opportunity is located in Austin, Texas, and is available due to a physician retirement, creating a rare opportunity to step into a well-established, turnkey practice with an existing guest base, referral network, and operational infrastructure already in place.Our mission is to help guests reduce pain, restore function, and improve quality of life through coordinated, evidence-based care with a strong emphasis on non-opioid treatment strategies.This role combines direct guest care with clinical leadership, including oversight and development of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The physician will work in a highly integrated environment with access to in-house imaging, physical therapy, and orthopedic specialists.Practice EnvironmentEstablished turnkey practice in the Austin marketImmediate access to an existing guest population and referral streamMultidisciplinary orthopedic and pain management settingIn-house X-ray and ultrasoundIntegrated physical therapy servicesAccess to orthopedic specialistsEMR-driven, data-focused care modelPhysician ResponsibilitiesClinical CareEvaluate guests in-office and via telemedicineObtain histories and perform physical exams when guests are seen in personDevelop individualized treatment plansInterpret and document in-house X-ray findingsOrder appropriate imaging, labs, and specialty referralsPerform and prescribe interventional pain proceduresPrescribe non-opioid medications when clinically indicatedMaintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in DOC's EMRLearn and maintain EMR templates to support efficient, standardized documentationCall & AvailabilityBe available for after-hours and weekend emergencies, which are extremely rareAPP Oversight & LeadershipThe Pain Management Physician will provide clinical oversight and leadership for APPs within the DOC Pain Management Department, including:Service Line & Operational LeadershipThe physician will meet routinely with DOC's Vice President of Clinical Operations to:Review service-line reportsAnalyze Key Performance IndicatorsDevelop strategies to improve service-line performance, access, guest outcomes, and operational efficiencyIdeal CandidateBoard-certified or board-eligible in Pain Medicine, or board-certified in a related specialty with interventional pain trainingPhysicians with backgrounds in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Anesthesiology, or related specialties are encouraged to applyStrong interest in non-opioid, function-focused pain careComfortable supervising and developing APPsCollaborative, data-driven, and interested in operational improvementStrong communication and documentation skillsCommitted to timely, guest-centered care in a multidisciplinary environment
