Primarily assigned to IMCU or Medical/Surgical units, this unit offers training and precepting on the ICU and ED for Registered Nurses (RN) who wish to move into these more critical care areas or placement into these critical care areas if experienced. This Central Float Pool is ideal for those who enjoy variety or are interested in learning new skills. Due to the advanced level of practice, 2 years of acute care nursing experience is preferred. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
