Host / Reservationist

KomeNori is a modern casual Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn. We pride ourselves on offering a vibrant, welcoming dining experience featuring modern Japanese cuisine, hand rolls and shareable plates, paired with great hospitality. We are currently looking for a friendly, energetic, and organized Host to join our front-of-house team.

As the Host, you are the first and last impression our guests receive. You will manage the flow of the dining room, warmly greet and seat guests, handle reservations, and ensure a smooth, welcoming environment during service.

• Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival with a professional and friendly demeanor.

• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists efficiently (using our RESY reservation system).

• Coordinate table pacing and seating rotations with servers and management to maximize floor efficiency.

• Manage takeout and delivery order handoffs when necessary.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and reception area.

• Assist guests with menu inquiries and provide basic information about our modern Japanese offerings.

• Support the FOH team with side work, guest recovery, and overall floor coordination as needed.

• Previous hospitality or host experience in a restaurant setting is preferred, but positive energy and a fast-learning attitude are most important.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.

• Ability to remain calm, poised, and organized in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• Punctual, dependable, and a strong team player.

• Flexible availability, including weekends (Friday & Saturday) and evenings.

• Compensation: $20.00 per hour + Tip Sharing.

• A supportive, friendly team environment in a great neighborhood restaurant.
