Additional Information About the Role Barnes Jewish Hospital Assistant Nurse Manager PACU - Parkview Tower 4/10 hour shifts (10A-830P) Work/life balance PACU or critical care experience preferred 44-bed unit, 60-70 cases per day Minimally invasive surgery, urology, colorectal, gynecology, bariatric, gender reaffirming, interventional radiology Bonus eligible Comprehensive benefit Role Purpose Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, conducting professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of the group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Participates in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and has direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. Includes responding to changes in the business that may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to their age and developmental needs to attain the patient's optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy. Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment. Manages staff hours versus scheduled hours, approves payroll updates, reconciles time cards, bonus tracking and coding approval. Prepares, coordinates, and executes all staff communications; prepares huddle agendas and leads meetings. Determines staffing needs; assigns overtime. Recommends effective annual increases. Interviews staff for open positions, evaluates performance reviews, drafts and issues corrective actions/coaching, and follows up on disciplinary action for compliance. Responsible for staff productivity and overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Conducts performance evaluations and recommends areas of improvement if needed. Position is safety-sensitive; requires constant alertness and safe execution of duties.
