Assistant Nurse Manager PACU

Job Overview Assistant Nurse Manager PACU – Parkview Tower, Barnes Jewish Hospital. 4‑hour shifts from 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. 44‑bed unit, 60‑70 cases per day. PACU or critical care experience preferred. Bonus eligible. Comprehensive benefits package. Role Purpose Coordinates patient care, personnel management, equipment maintenance, procurement, and statistical documentation to support department goals. Responsibilities Manage team members: hire, train, assign work, evaluate performance, develop professional growth plans, and communicate staff needs. Participate in staffing, revenue, and expense budgeting; monitor goals and respond to business changes. Oversee patient care plans that meet age and developmental needs; document per policy. Create and enforce collaborative care plans based on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Review staff hours versus scheduled hours, reconcile time cards, bonus tracking, and coding; approve daily payroll updates. Prepare and lead meetings, huddle agendas, and staff communications; determine staffing needs and assign overtime. Conduct performance evaluations, recommend improvements, draft corrective actions, and ensure compliance. Maintain constant alertness and safety, as required for a safety‑sensitive position. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field. Registered Nurse (RN) license. 2–5 years of relevant experience. No required supervisory experience. Preferred Requirements 5–10 years of experience in a similar role. Prior supervisory experience (preferred).
