Spanish Interpreter

Language needed:  Spanish - Immediate need

Location:  Virtual, based in United States, preferably East Coast (Eastern Standard Time)

Overview

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is looking for a virtual Spanish interpreter. As a member of our network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you will be responsible for facilitating language communication for the local community in a variety of settings, including educational, medical, social services, and more. 

Responsibilities

 

• Provide Spanish-English interpreting for virtual school meetings, virtual parent-teacher conferences, virtual medical appointments, and more
• Provide superior customer service
• Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry specific best practices

Qualifications/Experience

 

• Full fluency in both English and Spanish
• Daytime availability (between the hours of 9AM - 5PM EST)
• Availability to support our interpreting clients 5 - 10 hours a week
• Reliable internet and laptop/tablet to access virtual appointments
• 1 - 2 years of professional interpreting experience preferred, but not required
• Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, etc.), but not required
• Candidates must be willing to get a background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry
• Must have reliable phone service for contact
• Must be comfortable with using a computer or smart phone for job input
