Responsibilities The Personal/Universal Banker is responsible for delivering an exceptional client service experience while servicing clients with a full range of banking products and services. Core duties include executing and/or submitting various administrative and operational activities related to clients and banking products, interacting with clients in person, via telephone, and via email, and maintaining complete and accurate record‑keeping. The role also involves mentoring fellow bankers and evolving team processes. Understanding the business model and engaging appropriate business unit subject matter experts to explore potential opportunities with the client. Executing and/or submitting client account servicing activities within appropriate time frames (e.g., processing wires, fund transfers, opening/closing accounts, maintaining accurate records, imaging documents). Proactively communicating with relationship management and operations teams to obtain necessary information for efficient execution. Handling paying and receiving activities, including cash transactions and daily balancing, and fully understanding all Wealth Management Lobby Banking Operations policies and procedures. Assisting with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes where available. Demonstrating expertise in setting up all types of client accounts and services, reviewing documentation for completeness, and avoiding deficiencies. Maintaining a strong understanding of policies and procedures and addressing each activity’s requirements in a timely manner while adhering to Northern Trust and risk‑management guidelines. Staying informed of new products and services to respond to client questions and assist in selling services that expand client relationships. Monitoring banking reports and assisting with audits as directed by the Team Leader/Manager. Serving as a mentor to fellow Personal Bankers and sharing deposit area expertise as designated by the Team Leader/Manager. Being cross‑trained on the Northern Trust teller system. Qualifications 3‑5 years of related experience. Knowledge of banking operations, products, and services, preferably gained through related work experience. Knowledge of federal regulations and banking guidelines, usually acquired through work experience or formal training. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills to identify, research, and resolve requests and manage conflicting priorities. Ability to work critically and both independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $55,800 – 89,400 USD (base pay).
