Lift Truck Operator / Warehouse WorkerWe are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Lift Truck Operator / Warehouse Worker to join a fast-paced distribution environment. This position is responsible for safely receiving, storing, picking, and shipping food products while operating a variety of material handling equipment.The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a cold storage environment, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, using RF scanners, and meeting daily productivity and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesSafely load and unload products using forklifts and other material handling equipmentOperate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, stand-up reach/straddle trucks, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks, and walk-behind equipmentMove products to designated storage locationsStack and store products safely and efficientlyPick and prepare customer orders for shipmentInspect products and freight for accuracy, damage, or potential infestationLabel, sort, wrap, pack, and repack products as neededUse RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and product movementAssist with physical inventory countsMaintain accurate product and inventory recordsCharge or change forklift batteries as neededReport equipment malfunctions and safety concerns immediatelyMaintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouseFollow OSHA standards, company safety procedures, and food-handling requirementsMeet established productivity and quality standardsPerform other warehouse duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent warehouse experience may be consideredPrevious warehouse, distribution, or forklift experience preferredAbility to safely operate material handling equipmentStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDependable attendance and punctualityAbility to meet production and performance standardsComfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environmentWillingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, or holidays as neededEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: Surge is an equal opportunity employer.
