Business Analyst

Business Analyst Overland Park, KS 3 days per week onsite 12 months contract to hire Pay: $50 - $55.00/hr About the Role Our client is in the midst of rebuilding a legacy platform and needs a Business Analyst to own a cross‑functional area of the system that spans multiple business lines. Rather than a narrow, single‑domain BA role, this position covers system‑wide functionality such as document workflows, attachments, and centralized notifications—work that touches every part of the platform. You’ll partner closely with business stakeholders, designers, and developers to define enhancements to existing functionality and, increasingly, to help the development team understand how current functionality works as the future‑state system takes shape. Key Responsibilities Own business and functional requirements for a cross‑functional, system‑wide area of the platform Partner with business stakeholders across multiple functional areas (claims, policy, accounting, and more) to understand needs and translate them into clear requirements Work closely with designers on wireframes and design reviews for enhancements Author business requirements documents and field specification sheets Support developers by clarifying how existing functionality works and what dependencies must carry into the future‑state system Collaborate with a broader BA team spanning several product areas Requirements 2–5 years of Business Analyst experience Comfortable owning a variety of functional areas rather than staying within one narrow domain Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills—this role requires regularly partnering across multiple teams Experience writing business requirements documents and functional specifications Insurance industry experience preferred, not required Comfortable working in a dev‑led environment where product, design, and development roles are still evolving Energized by variety and changing problem sets What Success Looks Like Within the first few months, you’re the go‑to person for a wide swath of cross‑cutting functionality, trusted by business stakeholders and developers alike. You move comfortably between multiple functional areas, keep clean documentation, and help the development team understand legacy behavior well enough to preserve it in the rebuilt system.
