Respiratory TherapistThe role involves managing non-invasive ventilation and conventional ventilation. Experience with aerosol therapy is necessary. You will perform bedside pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gases. The position includes oxygen management and patient education. You will also perform capillary blood gases and draw from lines. The patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics, with a focus on adult RRT but will occasionally work with pediatric intubated patients. The facility is a level 2 trauma center and has a comprehensive NICU that serves as a regional transport resource. Interdisciplinary support is provided, including respiratory services and rapid response teams. The role requires troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Knowledge of various respiratory equipment and medications is essential. You will be expected to work every other weekend and may float to different units as needed. If assigned, you will be expected to work a major holiday. Full compliance is required to start on time. The position may involve additional responsibilities based on patient needs and unit dynamics.
