What You’ll Be Doing

The US Global Markets Fixed Income Trade Control team supports primary dealer activity, trade lifecycle events, auction processes, and related control responsibilities.

• Execute and coordinate Primary Dealer Trade Support activities for US Fixed Income trading, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with established controls.

• Perform pre-auction inventory reconciliation for US Treasuries and Agencies, validating firm positions, investigating discrepancies, and driving them to resolution.

• Own day-to-day US Treasury and Agency auction support , including order preparation, submission, and post-auction reconciliation.

• Update and maintain firm and client auction orders in the Federal Reserve’s TAAP system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Develop and refine standardized auction order templates to streamline order entry and reduce operational risk for both firm and client submissions.

• Manage trade capture, allocation, and settlement processes, ensuring trades are properly booked and fed to downstream systems.

• Identify and resolve trade exceptions and reconciliation breaks between internal systems and external platforms, including Broadridge and Bloomberg TOMS.

• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for front office, operations, technology, and external market utilities, resolving routine issues independently and escalating complex matters as appropriate.

• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives by identifying gaps, documenting requirements, and implementing enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.

• Prepare and distribute operational and management reports related to trade support and auction activities.

• Participate in projects and system enhancements related to trade support, auction processes, and regulatory change.

• Operate in line with CIBC’s compliance standards and values, contributing to a strong control environment and continuous improvement.

How You’ll Succeed

• Operational Excellence: Deliver accurate trade capture, allocation, and settlement support with limited supervision, maintaining a strong focus on controls, timeliness, and exception resolution.

• Auction Process Ownership: Manage pre-auction inventory reconciliation, order preparation, TAAP updates, and post-auction reconciliation for US Treasury and Agency auctions.

• Stakeholder Communication: Partner directly with trading, sales, operations, technology, and external market utilities to resolve issues quickly and keep stakeholders informed.

• Process Improvement: Support automation, efficiency, and risk mitigation efforts by documenting processes, identifying pain points, and helping implement enhancements.

• Team Collaboration: Work effectively across Trade Control and partner teams, provide coverage as needed, and share knowledge with newer team members.

• Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all activities comply with CIBC and regulatory standards, and support timely and accurate regulatory reporting.
• Reconcile awarded securities and allocations after auctions, ensuring prompt and accurate booking.

• Maintain a strong understanding of desk-related technologies and support system integration and process improvement efforts.

Who You Are

• Experienced: 3–7 years of experience in Trade Support, Operations, Middle Office, or a related financial markets support function, including hands-on experience with Fixed Income products. Experience with US Treasuries, Agencies, Auction processes, TAAPS, Broadridge, Bloomberg TOMS, or E-Confirm is strongly preferred.

• Educated & Licensed: Bachelor’s degree required. FINRA Series 7 or 99 required or must be obtained after hire.

• Product Knowledgeable: Demonstrates solid working knowledge of Fixed Income products, US Treasuries, Agencies, Repo, and related auction processes, with the ability to apply that knowledge to day-to-day problem solving.

• Technically Skilled: Hands-on experience with trade capture, reconciliation, exception management, and order management systems; strong Excel skills, with reporting, process documentation, automation, or data analytics experience considered an asset.

• Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

• Self-Directed & Collaborative: Manages daily responsibilities with limited supervision, takes ownership of deliverables, follows through reliably, and works effectively with colleagues across teams to achieve shared goals.

• Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Able to identify and resolve trade problems quickly and accurately, with a focus on continuous improvement.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $130,000–$155,000 for the New York, NY market, based on experience, qualifications, and position location. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet employees’ needs, including medical, dental, vision, health savings account, life insurance, disability and other insurance plans, paid time off (including sick leave, parental leave, and vacation), holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
