The future is here!What You'll Do On A Typical DayThis full-time faculty position is a nine-month position, requiring a presence on campus with the faculty member's primary efforts focused on teaching and learning, academic excellence and student success. Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing learning strategies for students in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program. The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). In addition, ADN and PNE programs are approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON). This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing. Davidson-Davie faculty members have the following responsibilities including, but not limited to:Promote Davidson-Davie mission, vision and valuesTeach assigned courses at various locations to meet program needs, including, but not limited to day, evening, weekend, and onlineEnsure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currencyEvaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedbackProvide and/or facilitate quality experiences in the learning environment(s) to meet program needsDevelop course syllabi and provide appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteriaIncorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learningAssist in the evaluation of courses and programsPrepare and submit instructional records, reports and grades established by institutional policy.Participate in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skillsAttend appropriate internal and external meetingsAssist in student recruitment and retentionMaintain accessibility to students, faculty and staffMaintain a high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.Your AttributesSuccessful candidates will possess: Required Qualifications:Candidates must be compliant with the faculty requirements listed in 21 NCAC § 36.0318: Graduate degree from an accredited institution; orBaccalaureate in nursing from an accredited institution and commitment to obtain a graduate degree within 5 (five) years; ANDPrior to or within the first three years of employment, have education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, appropriate to faculty assignment.Active unencumbered license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina;Minimum of two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time experience as a registered nurse.Teaching experiencePreferred Qualifications:Community College teaching experience in a PNE programExperience using a Learning Management System, such as Canvas, to deliver course contentExperience with simulationWork EnvironmentADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
