Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift hospital position, with Level III NICU experience preferred.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department in a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be required to take on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
• Current RRT certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care
• BLS certification (AHA) required and must not expire prior to start
• Active state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
• Level III NICU experience preferred
• DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions per physician orders
• Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures including arterial blood gases
• Administers medications, initiates respiratory protocols, and evaluates patient response
• Communicates patient progress with physicians, nurses, and other departments
• Provides patient and family education on self-care techniques and health promotion
• Completes documentation according to departmental standards and monitors supplies/equipment
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement
• Acts as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff and other team members
• Participates in departmental meetings and quality improvement/research activities
• Permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Background check and drug screening required, with results typically taking at least two weeks
