Are you a hands-on fleet leader who came up through the mechanic side of the business?
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing South Florida organization to hire a Fleet Manager responsible for a fleet of nearly 100 trucks, distributed equipment, shop operations, and a team of mechanics.
This is a player-coach leadership role for someone who can manage the operation but still knows how to diagnose problems, guide complex repairs, and speak the language of experienced mechanics.
What You’ll Own
- Lead fleet maintenance, repair, and shop operations
- Manage and develop a team of 4–5 mechanics
- Oversee preventive maintenance for trucks and equipment
- Ensure DOT compliance , inspections, vehicle records, titles, registrations, and documentation
- Manage parts inventory, vendors, tools, budgets, and purchasing
- Recommend equipment replacement and capital purchases
- Drive shop safety, productivity, and equipment training
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanic background with gas and diesel engine experience
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant fleet/mechanical experience preferred
- Prior leadership or team-lead experience
- Spanish proficiency required
- Hands-on knowledge of fleet maintenance and equipment repair
- ASE and/or diesel certifications strongly preferred
- Experience with commercial trucks, heavy equipment, landscaping equipment, or similar fleets is highly relevant
