PURPOSE:

The Project Manager is responsible for providing the leadership to contribute significantly to the planning and execution for the on-schedule on-budget completion of the overall engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project commissioning and start-up. We are currently looking for a driven, energetic person with 10-30 years’ project management experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with business development in the strategic planning, development, and generation of technical/commercial proposals, for all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Setting policy, direction, and tone for the execution and implementation of the EPC Contract
• Establishing and developing EPC performance criteria, setting requirements, and establishing performance standards
• Reviewing the Contract to determine significant parameters, time schedules, estimates, and definitions of the major task areas
• Planning and developing the scope of work, project procedures, budget, and schedule
• Manages the development and implementation of the overall project execution plan.
• Preparing cost budgets and procedures for change orders
• Reviewing project forecasts, financial reports, cash flows, expenditures, and their assigned budgets.
• Ensuring the project safety plan is executed and adhered to by all with a strong safety-first mindset at the construction site.
• Ensuring quality and technical adequacy of the overall EPC effort.
• Reviewing and approving EPC estimates for use in preliminary budgets, control budgets and target estimates, as well as the overall project execution schedule.
• Coordinating the activities and schedules of the EPC Contractor and support services personnel assigned to the project
• Preparing reports on job progress and monitoring the EPC efforts
• Manage the interfaces between the owner, our project management team, EPC Contractor and other 3rd party support Contractors

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Successful completion of at least two refining type projects greater than $200 million or at least two chemicals, power, solar or renewables type projects with values greater than $100 million, where you held the role of Project Manager.
• Experience in at least two industries, oil and gas, power, petrochemical, chemicals, power, solar, and renewable diesel or gas technologies
• Gulf Coast Experience with EPC projects
• Project assignment is in Houston, no relocation or per diems
• Managed or performed lump-sum EPC projects
• Experience with project financing
• Knowledgeable in the planning and preparation of the EPC project schedule with a strong focus on a construction-driven methodology.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in construction execution. Site construction execution experience is a plus.
• Knowledgeable and experienced with the various types of contractual commercial terms of construction subcontractors.
• Relevant college degree
• Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various levels of management and employees.
• Our role is the Owners Project Manager and team will be small - Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Requires knowledge of technical and administrative aspects of all phases of project management, including management of information systems used to develop construction projects and preparation of engineering design plans; all related codes, guidelines, and regulations necessary for projects.
