AI Business Analyst

A leading investment management firm is looking for a Business Analyst to join a team focused on leveraging artificial intelligence and process improvement initiatives across operations. Key Responsibilities Process Analysis & Automation Evaluate existing operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation. Collaborate with business and technology teams to design solutions that improve productivity and reduce manual effort. Develop and support automation initiatives using AI technologies, scripting, and data analysis tools. Assist in transforming business requirements into actionable technical solutions. Artificial Intelligence Initiatives Explore practical applications of AI and large language models to enhance operational processes. Design, test, and refine prompts to improve the quality, consistency, and accuracy of AI-generated outputs. Pilot new AI-enabled solutions and support broader adoption across business functions. Monitor the effectiveness of AI-driven workflows and recommend enhancements when needed. Data Analysis & Reporting Create and maintain SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze operational data. Support data preparation activities required for automation and AI projects. Measure project outcomes against key performance indicators and track operational improvements. Produce documentation, reporting, and implementation metrics for stakeholders. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with Operations, Trade Support, and Technology teams to understand business challenges and identify improvement opportunities. Facilitate requirements gathering, testing activities, and user acceptance processes. Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain clear documentation, procedures, and operational playbooks to support long-term sustainability. Stay informed on advancements in artificial intelligence, automation platforms, and workflow optimization tools. Recommend innovative solutions that improve operational effectiveness while maintaining appropriate controls and governance. Contribute to ongoing process enhancement initiatives across the organization. Required Qualifications 1-5 years of experience in financial operations, trade support, investment operations, or a related environment. Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data analysis, reporting, or automation initiatives. Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar large language models to improve workflows or solve business problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work with sensitive business and operational data while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive initiatives from concept through implementation. Preferred Qualifications Experience within hedge funds, asset management, capital markets, or other financial services environments. Familiarity with operational processes such as trade support, reconciliations, settlements, confirmations, corporate actions, or reporting. Exposure to APIs, automation frameworks, data integrations, or workflow orchestration tools. Experience supporting application testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production rollouts. Familiarity with modern AI platforms and productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
