Job Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in tooling and fixture design to support manufacturing and production operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures, improving manufacturing processes, and supporting new product introduction initiatives.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Tooling

Location: Sherrill, NY

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop manufacturing, assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.
Create 3D fixture layouts, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings.
Apply GD&T principles in fixture and tooling designs.
Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to validate fixture designs and support production trials.
Troubleshoot and resolve fixture-related shop-floor issues.
Improve process capability, productivity, cycle time, and manufacturing costs through fixture optimization.
Develop standardized work instructions for fixture usage, operator guidance, and safety.
Conduct time studies, motion studies, and line balancing to optimize workstation layouts.
Support NPI activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive process refinement and tooling improvements to enhance production efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
3 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, tooling, fixture design, or production engineering.
Hands-on experience with SolidWorks and 3D modeling.
Strong understanding of GD&T and fabrication drawings.
Experience supporting welding, assembly, inspection, or manufacturing processes is preferred.
